Renting a camera, drone or audio kit should be the easy part of your shoot. Too often it is not: prices change at the counter, a missing cable turns into an argument on return day, and your deposit disappears with no explanation. GearUp was built to fix exactly that. Here is what you get when you rent through GearUp.
You see the real price before you book
Every quote on GearUp is calculated by the shop's own rate card on our servers, not typed in by hand. Pick your pickup and return times and you get the rental fee and the security deposit, line by line, before you send a request.
The quote is saved with your booking. If the shop changes its prices tomorrow, your rental still uses the price you agreed to, and late fees follow the rules that were in place when you booked.
Your security deposit is protected
On GearUp, your deposit is kept separate from the shop's rental income. It is not money the shop can quietly spend.
A shop can only deduct from your deposit by recording a specific reason, such as a late return or a damaged part, and every deduction leaves a permanent entry in the rental's ledger. Those records cannot be edited or deleted afterwards. If nothing goes wrong, you get the whole deposit back.
Every battery and cable is accounted for
When you pick up your gear, the shop checks out each component, from the drone itself down to the spare propellers, batteries, chargers and SD cards. That list is snapshotted with your rental.
On return day, the shop checks the same list. No guessing whether that third battery was ever in the case, and no surprise charge for a part you never received. Checkout inspections can include condition notes and photos, so the gear's state when it left the shop is on record too.
Real availability, no double bookings
Each shop's booking page shows a live availability calendar: days that are free, days that are partly booked with the exact hours taken, and days that are fully booked. You can pick a range that actually works before you message anyone.
Behind the calendar, the database itself refuses to book the same piece of gear twice for overlapping times. Once your booking is approved, that gear is yours for those dates.
Pay the way you already pay
Shops on GearUp can accept cash and bank transfers, and online payment through PayMongo with GCash, Maya, QR Ph and cards. Online payments are only marked as paid once PayMongo confirms them, and GearUp never stores your card details.
Find trusted shops near you
Search cameras, drones, gimbals, microphones and complete creator kits from independent rental shops across the Philippines. Browse by category, sort by rating, or open the shop map and find gear within a few kilometres of you.
Ratings and reviews come from renters who actually completed a rental, and reviews are moderated, so a shop's score reflects real experiences.
Everything about your rental in one place
Your GearUp account keeps track of the details that usually live in chat threads and screenshots.
- Booking status
- See when a shop approves your request, and get notified when something changes.
- Rental agreement
- The exact terms you accepted are saved with your rental, so they cannot change after you sign.
- Verification once
- Upload your ID to the shop through private storage, not a public chat thread, and get notified when it is approved.
- Clear settlement
- After return you can see what was charged, what was deducted from your deposit, and why.
Fair to renters by design
Shops can keep notes on past rentals, but a single incident never automatically blacklists you. Any change to how a shop treats a renter has to be made by a person, with a written reason.
That balance matters: shops can trust renters enough to hand over expensive gear, and renters can trust that one bad day does not follow them forever.
